Popular questions
How do I book a closet?+
Find a closet at your destination, pick your pick-up and return dates, choose a pickup location, and send your request. Your card is authorized at checkout but you won't be charged until the host confirms β if they decline or don't respond before your start date, the hold is released in full.
Where do I collect my items?+
From the pickup location you choose at checkout β a vetted local partner business. Once the host drops your items off and the desk has them checked in, you'll get a notification and email that they're ready β along with your one-use pickup PIN (your initials + 6 digits, e.g. ET492018, also shown under Bookings). Give the PIN to the desk and they hand over your closet; the PIN works only for that booking and expires as soon as it's picked up.
Who cleans the clothes?+
Items returned through a partner pickup location are cleaned and inspected by the desk β most are professional dry cleaners β before going back to the host. The $5 per-item fee at checkout pays the location for this handling. For direct handoffs, hosts prepare their own items between trips.
What are the protection plans?+
Every rental requires a protection choice at checkout, and each item shows exactly two options: No Protection ($0) β you accept full responsibility for damage, loss, excessive cleaning, or repairs, and a refundable deposit for the item's full replacement value is held on your card at pick-up β or the one plan matching the item's value, priced as a percentage of the rental: Basic (+10%, items under $500) β covers minor accidental damage: small stains, loose seams, missing buttons, and standard cleaning issues; Standard (+15%, $500β$749) β covers accidental damage: rips, tears, broken zippers, stains, and professional cleaning needs; Premium (+15%, $750β$999) β covers accidental damage, stubborn stains, and minor repairs on special-occasion pieces; Luxury (+35%, $1,000+) β covers accidental damage, staining, and expert repair or restoration on high-value pieces like wedding dresses and designer items.
How are rentals protected?+
Several safeguards run on every booking: renters are ID-verified before they can rent; choose a paid protection plan at checkout and there's no deposit β the plan is your coverage. Choose No Protection and a refundable deposit for the item's full replacement value is held (not charged) on your card at pick-up, then returned in full once the item is dropped back off and passes inspection β within 72 hours, minus only approved damage charges and any unpaid late fees; partner desks photo-document condition at intake and return; late returns automatically accrue a daily late fee, and items not back within 7 days are charged at their full replacement value β hosts receive 80% of every enforcement dollar collected. Something still went wrong? File a claim and our team will review it.
How do I file a claim?+
Go to File a claim, pick the booking and what happened (damage, loss, a misrepresented item, cleaning, or anything else), and describe it. You'll get a case reference right away; claims go straight to our support team, who review every one (8β5 Central time, MonβFri) and follow up by email.
How do I become a host?+
Head to the host page, list your closet in minutes, and start earning. There's no minimum rate and you keep 100% of your rental price β travelers pay the checkout fees. Every booking request waits for your approval before the traveler is charged.
What's your cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation until 48 hours before noon on your start date. Inside that window you can still cancel any time before pick-up, and 50% is refunded β the other half compensates the host, who held the item for you. Requests the host hasn't approved yet cancel free at any time: your card was only authorized, never charged.
