Cancellation & Refund Policy

Full refund up to 48 hours before your rental starts โ€” 50% after that, until pick-up. Last updated July 2026.

The short version: cancel 48 hours or more before your rental start date for a full refund. Inside 48 hours you can still cancel until pick-up, and card payments are refunded at 50%. Refunds are automatic.

1. Cancelling before pick-up

Any booking that hasn't been picked up yet can be cancelled from My account โ†’ Bookings. The item goes straight back on the host's shelf, and card payments are refunded to the same card:

2. After pick-up

Once the host has handed the item over, the rental is under way and can no longer be cancelled. If your plans change, message the host to arrange an early return โ€” the rental fee is not prorated.

3. Late returns & non-returns

Items are due back at your pick-up point by end of day on the return date shown on your booking. Because most items are reserved by the next traveler, return dates can't be extended.

You agree to these charges when you accept the terms at checkout. If something outside your control delayed a return, contact us via the Help Center and we'll review it.

4. Refund timing

Refunds are issued immediately on our side. Banks typically take 5โ€“10 business days to show the money back on your statement.

5. Host cancellations & unavailable items

If a host can't honour a confirmed booking, or an item turns out to be unavailable after you've paid, you receive a full refund. Repeated host cancellations affect the host's standing on the platform.

6. Damaged or misrepresented items

If an item arrives significantly different from its listing, contact us within 24 hours of pick-up via the Help Center and we'll make it right โ€” a replacement, credit, or refund.

7. Host payouts

Hosts are paid their 80% share when an item is returned. Bookings cancelled 48+ hours ahead generate no payout โ€” the traveler gets everything back. When a booking is cancelled inside 48 hours, the host receives their 80% share of the retained half, since they held the item and turned other travelers away. Late fees and non-return charges split the same way: the host receives 80% of every enforcement dollar collected.
